Weird Object Friday

Update: Well, I think Ben was the closest. It does have animals in it and it does float. It's Noah's Ark.
I love the ark. Can you see the worm lines and insect tracts in the wood? Many grand kids have played with this through the years.
OK, let the guessing begin. What is it? I will give you a few clues.
It is handmade. The bottom is solid wood and the top is a hollow log. My parents bought it at an art show. I'll update later this afternoon with the answer...... My hubby just walked into the room and immediately guessed what it was... maybe it's easier than I thought.

Ok, you've got me stumped. (pardon the pun) Is it a display for something else?

Is it a habitat for some sort of wildlife?

I want to say it's for putting kindling in but I'm probably wrong. :)

I'm picturing sticking some animal in it and floating it out on a pond, but that makes no sense. Maybe you anchor it out in the pond and it's what pigeon said. Or maybe I'm all wet...

Hi
It's me again, letting you know that my friend Gerry is back up and running, and has posted a W.O.F. Her link is on my blog.

P.S.- The only thing that I can think of as a guess on your's is a display for a nativity scene, but that's probably a wrong guess.

WOW! I like that! I never would have guessed. (Do I get half a point for thinking of a biblical answer? Just kidding..)

Technically I mentioned sticking an animal (ok,I didn't say PAIRS of animals) in it and floating it on water, so I am taking half credit.

Jessica, I never would have guessed. Did you play with it as a child or is it strictly an art object?

Hi Gerry... It really is a piece of art but my parents did let my children play with it. It's not really that old, only about 15 years.

Can I have partial credit for my habitat answer???
