They do like peanuts. I have a mix that includes peanuts in the shell. They grab those from my porch ledge first thing. Where and how do you hang that feeder?
Jessica, I love the blue jays. Ours have disappeared this winter.. I hope they come back in spring. Like the Pileated Woodpeckers, the blue jays let us know when they come to the feeders. They are LOUD also. I haven't bought peanuts yet--but they like other things I have such as black sunflower seeds and safflower.
By the way, I like your new blog site. I have no trouble getting in now. I think it's the big background that slows things down. THANKS!!! I have an older computer.
Those Blue Jays are real characters, love those expressive winged rascals. They're real photogenic too. You got some great shots, Mr. Blue Jay got a favorite treat for a meal, we get to enjoy the photos. It's a win-win situation all around.

Our Canadian Blue Jays are so skittish. I have so few pictures of them. I love yours!

Nice series of shots - I like the first one, staring right into the lens.
They are beautiful birds. Loud, but pretty. Nice set of pictures. He looks very happy with your menu today.
Is that feeder a soup ladle? Love that! Your Blue Jay photo was great!
P.S. How's your knee????

The birds want you to put out some honey roasted nuts next time.
You are a generous hostess :-) He looks very happy. I like the interesting feeder. Reminds me to buy some peanuts for the birds!
