Caution... Feeding birds can be hazardous

I did my usual thing this morning and headed out to feed the birds.  I had an armful of bird suet, bird seed, etc.  I was making my way down the back porch to the back yard.  I was about 2 steps from the bottom and I slipped on the ice.  My legs went every which way and my knee twisted in a way that human knees are not supposed to twist.  I felt a big pop and there I laid on the ground.  I didn't know how I was going to get back into the house.  I started screaming and crying..... because it hurt so much and because I wanted Caleb to come out and help me.  After about 2 minutes I started to get embarrassed that one of the neighbors might hear me and I managed to crawl back into the house.   There sat Caleb.... "Caleb! Why didn't you come out and help me.  I was screaming and crying for you to help me!!".  Then Caleb says... "Well, I did hear you but I thought you were singing".

I couldn't believe it.... "When do I ever SING outside Caleb!"
Caleb: "I thought you were enjoying your birds so much that you just broke out in song".
OK, now I am no longer crying and I am laughing hysterically.

My knee is still hurting a lot!  I'm giving it the weekend and if I need to go to the Dr. Monday I will.

My goodness, be careful!

Singing! Only a son would think up something like that.

Oh my! I hope your knee is OK. I am terrified of walking on ice and wear Yaktraks on my boots.

I slipped a couple years ago and dislocated my elbow. Now I act like an old lady whenever I walk on the ice, because I remember how painful that was. I hope you feel better soon.

Oh my! I am sorry about your knee and hope it feels better. I did just burst out laughing though and had to read this to Mike.

Hope everything is okay. Treat yourself kindly and make Caleb get you your knitting and tea ALL DAY!

Singing ... really now!

You deserve some pampering yourself after taking that spill while caring for the feathered folk.

Sorry to hear about your "incident" out there. In our experience, teenage boys are not always the most helpful first responders.

Happy Groundhog Day, Jessica.. We have a winter wonderland on the plateau this morning. The birds are eating and eating and eating.. I guess we'll have 6 more weeks -at least--of winter!!!!

Hope your knee is better today... Did you have to go to the doctor??? YUK!!! Be careful on that ice..
Hugs,
Betsy

Being one who has an artificial knee, I don't think leaving a funny comment would be in good taste, so I will give you my best wishes and say a prayer for you.
