Yesterday was Jordan's last day ever of High School. That morning it was pouring outside. While Jordan was upstairs getting ready for school Craig and I snuck outside and put Grad flags and magnets on both sides of her car. We followed her outside.... As soon as she saw her car she got a big smile on her face, then she says "Get that stuff off of there! I'm not driving to school looking like that!" We snapped a few photos (sorry the photo is so bad, rain drops were on the lens), then took it all off and away she went. Craig waited a bit then ran up to the school parking lot and put it all back on her car so she could smile again when she got out of school.
I can't tell you how much we love that girl! This is a big milestone in Jordan's life and we love to celebrate Jordan! All her hard work and dedication is being honored and recognized at every turn this past few weeks. Senior academic awards night, senior athlete awards banquet, track banquet, band concerts, symphony concerts, dance recitals. I will be here all night if I wrote about every award she's received recently. The ones that make us the most proud are the ones based on her character, integrity and being a role model for others. Each year one senior girl and one senior boy receive an athletic award that is the highest honor given each year to a senior. The recipients names are put on a plaque and remain displayed in the High School forever. Students for this award are picked by all the coaches collaboratively based on character, dedication for all 4 years of high school. Jordan received the award this year!
At the end of the senior academic awards night they showed a DVD of the senior trip the class took to Florida. I just sat there watching with tears falling down my cheeks the whole time. Seeing the photos of those kids having the times of their lives and knowing what a bond they have formed all these years is the best thing ever. And it's not just Jordan that we are proud of. I know I'll cry just as hard when I see Ty walking across that podium to receive his diploma, and others too. So many of those kids are a big part of our lives. We wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
This Sunday we honor our graduates at church and then the following Sunday is the actual High School Graduation and so starts a very emotional week for me. But it's such a good emotion.... one that makes my heart happy.
