The new marching band season has begun. Last week and this week was band camp for Jordan. She is Drum Major again and as an added bonus has an oboe solo during the performance for this years MCBA competitions (Michigan Competing Band Association).
As usual, she is very excited and looking forward to a great season. I think marching band season is one of my favorite times of the year. I love it!
Tonight was the end of camp and the band did a demonstration of what they learned at band camp this week. More to follow as marching season progresses.....

How exciting, the start of a new year. My son graduated so the marching band is now gone from my everyday life....and I am seriously missing it. Lucky for me I live by the high school and got to listen to band @ camp all week. Of course I will be going to a lot of the shows. Also hearing Cliff (Mr. Wixy) do his thing annoucing is always a treat! He really is the best at it!!
Have a great day!!
I have a niece who plays the oboe. That is a beautiful sounding instrument. Congrats to her on getting a solo. It's a difficult instrument to master.
You should take a video and put it on here.
Your daughter is cute and she looks like she is taking this very seriously. Good for her.
How fun for your daughter and what an accomplishment to have a solo! I always enjoyed marching band.
It is a good time of year, full of expectation! We can hear the drum beats coming from the field not far from us every year. Our kids both went through the experience and had fun.
This Thursday it all begins for me, the loudest band announcer in northeast Ohio.
But I'm loud because I have a great product to sell, the Rittman Indians Marching Band.
So from one tribe to another, good luck this season.
How awesome! I love marching bands, too! I played at St. Joe and at Michigan State.
