But it was not a lost cause. In this mall is a booth that sells books. It's one of my favorite booths. They don't really sell antique books, most are old out of print and some are newer hardly used books. But they are all reasonably priced and all are in great shape. I can always find a book or two that I just have to have. But today was especially fun!! Once a year for the month of July they have 50% off all their books. I was in heaven. I sat right down on the floor and made myself comfortable flipping through those books!! "Wow, this book is only $1.50, Wow, this book is only $3.00, Wow, this book is only $2.00." My pile quickly grew pretty tall. I came home with 9 books all for less than $20.00. Several of the books I got were on my Amazon.com wish list. It was my lucky day. Maybe I'll stop by there again tomorrow (you're not reading this, are you Craig?).
All of my books are about (you guessed it) birds, nature, hiking, photography, religion. I'm going to have some great reading when we are on our camping trip in a few weeks. Time to hit the books......

That sounds like a fun place. You never know- another bird feeder like the lost one may show up again!
I love shopping for books. We have a store here called half price books. I treat myself to a trip there every once and a while.
Sounds like quite a bargain. My problem is I buy books at a faster rate than I read them, so I always have a backup. (Which actually may not be such a bad thing)
Anyhow, enjoy your stack!

I thought you were going to tell me it was time for my son to go back to college; Yippee! (only kidding; kind of sort of) Enjoy.
That is something I should do more of.
Summer is a great time for reading - you choose the same topics I usually do! I've also been getting into travel essay books - love Peter Mayle and his family's adventures.
I would love to go there. I love to read. Lucky you
You make me hopefully that someday I will have time to read again when my kids are older! LOL!
I have the same love - books and birds. (I just can't pass by a bookstore!) I have a large front porch where I read (and relax) while watching the birds that visit my bird feeders. There's nothing better!
